Why read German this way
German makes comprehension feel harder than it is: the verb arrives at the end of the clause, so a beginner who translates word by word loses the sentence before the meaning shows up. Stories are the cure, because you get the same structures often enough to stop parsing them. This is Leseverstehen at the level below Goethe A1, on texts you can actually finish.

Are the questions in German or in English?
In German. At A1 they are short and use the vocabulary of the story itself, so if you followed the story you can answer them.
Is this the same as a Goethe or telc reading test?
