Why read Portuguese this way
These stories are written in European Portuguese, which matters more for reading than people expect: the pronoun placement and the second-person forms differ enough from Brazilian Portuguese to slow a learner down mid-sentence. If you are learning the Brazilian variety you can still use them, and the differences you notice are worth noticing.

Questions about the test
Is this European or Brazilian Portuguese?
European Portuguese. The vocabulary and forms are the ones used in Portugal, which is worth knowing before you start if you are learning the Brazilian variety.
Are the questions in Portuguese?
Yes, in Portuguese, using the story's own vocabulary. At A1 they are deliberately short.
