Why read Spanish this way
Most free Spanish comprehension exercises are single paragraphs written to be tested, not read. These are whole stories with an ending, which is the point: comprehension is about following something, not decoding a sentence. If you are working toward the reading section of an exam like the DELE, this sits a level below it and builds the habit those papers assume you already have.

Questions about the test
Are the questions in Spanish or in English?
In Spanish. Answering a question about a Spanish story in Spanish is part of the exercise, and at A1 the questions are kept deliberately simple, with short sentences and everyday words.
What level is this test?
A1 and A2, the first two CEFR levels. The stories use present-tense narration, everyday vocabulary and short sentences, so the test measures whether you followed the story rather than how large your vocabulary is.
